When your Google reviews vanish: reading the July 3 search forum recap

A short note from the AuditLamp team. Part of our job is reading the daily search news so owners do not have to, then saying plainly what actually matters.

One item stood out this week. Search Engine Roundtable's Daily Search Forum Recap for July 3, 2026 collects what people were reporting across the search forums that day (seroundtable.com). The item it leads with: Google local reviews are disappearing from many businesses (seroundtable.com).

If that is happening to you, here is the honest version. Reviews live on Google's side, not yours. When they vanish there, AuditLamp cannot put them back, and neither can anyone else selling you a quick fix. We do not have a magic sentence for this, and we are not going to pretend we do.

What we can do is help you know your own baseline, so a change like this is something you notice on purpose instead of stumbling onto it weeks later. You cannot manage what you never wrote down. When your profile and the way search and AI engines read your site are recorded and checked, a sudden drop stops being a mystery and starts being a dated fact you can act on.

That is the whole idea behind the free scan. It reads your site the way Google and the AI answer engines actually read it, and tells you in plain language what they see today. No email required to get your diagnosis.

If the news about Google reviews has you worried about the rest of your local presence, start there.
