04 / Recheck and proof

Check the change,
not the hope.

A fresh recheck answers a narrow question: does this supported condition pass on this page now?

A confirmation has a scope

One page.
One condition.
Fresh evidence.

Failure or unknown evidence never confirms a repair.

Fresh evidence

Know what a recheck confirms.

Supported conditions
Title, H1, meta description, canonical, canonical conflicts, indexability (noindex), HTML language, viewport, mixed content, HTTPS and multiple titles.
Attempt limit
3 attempts per 5 minutes per account and site.
Confirmation
A passing result requires fresh passing evidence for the selected condition. A fetch failure, unknown result or remaining failure is not confirmed.
Saved report
A single-condition recheck does not update the saved report. Run a full rescan for a new report or unsupported conditions.
Multiple pages
Confirmation is limited to pages actually rechecked. One passing page cannot confirm the other affected pages.

What this does not tell youPassing a technical condition does not establish that Google has indexed the page, selected its canonical or changed its position.

See both outcomes

A pass and a non-confirmation.

01 / Found

Missing canonical

The example page has no canonical tag. First decide which URL should represent this content. A canonical is a preference signal, not a command to Google.

02 / Choose platform

Generic guidance

Choose how you edit the page. These are generic steps, not WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or Webflow tutorials.

03 / Make the change

One step you can review

1. Confirm that https://example.com/ is the preferred URL.
2. Add this tag inside the page’s <head>.
3. Save and publish the change.

<link rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/">

04 / Acknowledge

“I did this” is your note

An acknowledgement records that you followed a step in this session. It is not evidence that the condition passes, and it is not durable repair history.

05 / Recheck

Read the page again

The actual guide fetches fresh evidence for one supported condition on one page. This illustration makes no scan request. Choose an outcome to see both paths.

Illustrated outcome: pass

This condition passes on the page we rechecked

Only the named condition and page are confirmed. Other affected pages still need their own evidence.

Illustrated outcome: not confirmed

Not confirmed: the page still fails or could not be inspected

Review the current evidence. A failed fetch or an unknown result never becomes a pass.

Wider comparisons

Keep the dated record.

Live

Before / after diff

Compare two dated scans of a domain: score movement, check and page changes, readable-content overlay, raw HTML diff and available screenshots. Screenshots have been captured since 7 July 2026. The homepage overlay is free; other pages are paid.

Partial

60-day receipt

Set a baseline and collect weekly snapshots. The receipt uses stored scans and real Search Console rows only. It needs dated evidence and a valid connection for search metrics.
